The Mini Bugger has a nice drift and sink rate and makes a great point fly for those big browns. A stripping retrieve is the way to fish it in slow deep water. Tungsten Jig Head Nymphs ride with the hookup so they do not snag up on the bottom as most nymphs do, keeping the hook sharp and away from the rocks. Tungsten sinks fast (50% heavier than brass), getting deeper with great balance up and down in the water column.

I had a fabulous lesson with Jordan from Rocky Mountain Fly Shop. We went out on the water and he tailored the lesson to my experience and skill level. We touched on casting, fly selection and an introduction to reading water. It was all hands on and I walked away with the confidence to try new things this summer. It was a perfect morning and I'll definitely do it again.
