OVERVIEW:
Fly fishing legend Lefty Kreh, always an innovator, once again has added to his legacy. Lefty, along with some longtime friends and guides, sat down one evening and brainstormed what they thought would be the most desirable features to incorporate into the design of a new fly reel. All agreed that, first of all, it should have a silky smooth, maintenance-free drag system. Secondly, an easy-to-grip drag knob with detent adjustment. Third, large diameter quick and easy-to-change spools and, finally, a counterbalanced handle that is ergonomic and comfortable.
The LK Legacy large arbor reels are CNC machined from 6060-T6 aircraft grade aluminum and dramatically ported to reduce weight without sacrificing frame or spool strength. The anodized finish provides the highest level of corrosion resistance and durability, making them perfect for both fresh and salt water.
LK Legacy reels incorporate a large surface carbon fiber to stainless steel drag system as well as two stainless steel ball bearings that are protected by a drag assembly cover that is designed to prevent dust and sand from entering the system. The large drag knob is knurled for a positive grip and features audible indexed settings.
The counterbalanced spool with an exposed rim provides smooth line egress and optimal line control. The Delrin reel handle is ergonomic in design and has comfortable fingertip detents. The large diameter wide spool allows plenty of room for line and backing while the reel foot attachment screws go through the frame into the foot for a stronger and more secure connection. Left to right-hand retrieve is easily switched by reversing a one-way bearing that is protected inside the clutch housing. A fabric pouch is included with each reel.
